Next phase of Bradford city centre transformation set to begin

05 April 2024

The next phase of major works to transform the heart of Bradford city centre is due to start in April 2024 (read full press release on Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s website).

The £43 million investment will reshape the city centre in the lead-up to Bradford UK City of Culture 2025.

The scheme will create more green public spaces for people to enjoy and make it easier to walk and cycle.

What does this mean for Bradford bus users?

As part of the changes, bus services will permanently move onto new routes around the heart of the city centre rather than through it.

From Sunday 14 April 2024, a timetable with new departure times and stops will be in place for bus services in the city centre.

MCard bus users who travel to and from Bradford should check services and stops before travelling, allowing a little extra time for journeys whilst everyone gets used to the changes.

How to check service changes

For information about service changes, visit: wymetro.com/bradfordbusmove

Posters with service information changes will be located around the city centre.

A team will be on hand in the city centre during the first week to help passengers and answer questions.

If you need a timetable in an alternative language, large print, Braille, audio CD or tape, please contact MetroLine on 0113 245 7676
